The Fruit of the Spirit (Week 4)

Hello! So, today, I'm finishing up my FIRST EVER blog post series. (If you're just now finding my blog, you can find the first three posts here.) Last week, I covered kindness and goodness, and this week I'm going over faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. So, here we go!

Faithfulness

Luke 16:10 " He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much." (KJV) The definition of faithfulness is "the quality of being faithful; fidelity." I think that faithfulness can be used a couple of different ways. I think that it applies to husbands and wives, people's relationships with the father, and even people's relationships to other people. I think everyone knows what being faithful to your spouse means. Being faithful to the Father is not putting other things above Him.

Gentleness

Titus 3:2 " To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men." (KJV) The definition of gentleness is "the quality of being kind, tender, or mild-mannered." We should be kind and gentle towards other people. We also need to be calm in non calm-evoking situations. In bad situations, we need to keep our calm towards other people who are irritating us.

Self-Control

Proverbs 16:32 "He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city." The definition of self-control is " the ability to control oneself, in particular one's emotions and desires or the expression of them in one's behavior, especially in difficult situations." Self control is SUPER important. Hard, but important. It's important when you have a job, important in all of your relationships, and important when battling temptations. I'm not saying it's easy to have self-control in trying situations, but having self-discipline for yourself is a good thing.

I hope you've enjoyed this series of mine! I'll be back next week to write a new post.

P.S. please take a moment to take this survey. Thank you greatly!

Goodbye for now,

Kyra :)
