Fun Writing Excercise

Okay, so, as you guys know, I have been obsessed with Journal/Self-Reflection stuff lately. I love writing down my thoughts and feelings and really thinking about them. Today, we did this exercise as a family, and I enjoyed it a lot. You can do this on your own, or do it with a friend or your family.

Step 1: Write What (or who) You Want to Be

What I mean by that is write down adjectives that describe who you want to be as a person e.g. "Loving" or "Kind". You can also write things you'd like to do for a career.

Step 2: Pick Three of The Adjectives and Write Them Down

Step 3:Look Up Bible Verses That Mention All Three Adjectives

E.g. for "Patient" you could write something like James 1:19: "Let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath.."etc..

Step 4: Write All Three Bible Verses as "I Am" Statements

E.g. "I am quick to hear, slow to speak, ans slow to wrath."

Speak these "I Am" statements every day for the next week, then do the same thing with three more adjectives. This is an awesome journaling activity that can really help you get your goals and who you'd like to be down on paper.

Here are my three bible verses (if you'd like to see them).

James 1:19 "Let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath."

Ephesians 6:1 "Children, obey your parents in the Master, for this is right."

1 Corinthians 10:24 "Let no one seek his own, but each one that of the other."

Drop me a line if you'd like to discuss this exercise or if you have any questions! :)

Goodbye for now,

Kyra :)
